H-CAP provides opportunities for labor/management workforce partnerships to share best practice and ideas on workforce development and planning. H-CAP also works with joint labor/management training funds and organizations that implement local workforce, career ladder, and educational programs. H-CAP works to bring the collective power of our network to the national conversation on workforce development and training.

Our core areas of programmatic work include:

 

  • Industry based, innovative career ladder programs to meet the needs of the working adult across all sectors of healthcare

  • Development of a labor/management platform for healthcare workforce development and education policy and research  

  • Investigation of new and emerging jobs fostered by ACA implementation and their implications for workforce education and training

  • Cross institutional partnerships between employers, unions, and colleges

  • Advocacy for innovative programs for BSN completion

  • Support for equity in the healthcare professional workforce

  • Post-secondary preparatory education that supports access and completion rates

  • Program evaluation and research for continuous improvement of programs

  • Grant and program development consultation and assistance
